Serenity by Nuukeer Serenity by Nuukeer
One of the stronger moons defiantly could remain at such a close distance relative to the other planet, others succumbed, forming the rings which due to tidal forces will continue to remain untouched by the gravity of the moon.
I think these are my best planet rings yet. Any suggestions welcome, I'm a bit uncertain about that moon's reflection on those rings, oh well.
The color scheme might be a little dull, but I've done so many other colours.
The title was made up quickly, couldn't come up with anything better in 10 secs.

Original resolution: 10k by 10k pixels.

Edit: Added much more details and highlights to the background nebulae, a lot of it is not visible in this low resolution copy though.
Also added a larger star, with hot gasses surrounding it. Made the moon's reflection/shadow a little darker. I might crop the bottom part of the image later.
This image was heavily influenced by [link] , Greg Martin's "Genesis", [link] and another one I don't remember.

Mmm, that really dark cast shadow is distracting me more than it should I think.... Maybe make it smaller and/or not quite as dark, or lose it all together. I really am not sure, I would have to see how it would look otherwise to make a decision, I just think your eye goes there and kinda gets stuck longer than it should.

This is over a year old, and I haven't bothered doing anything with my old stuff. The shadow cast isn't correct, which I have acknowledged ealier in these comments.

amazing job, though the starfield and shadow of the moon on the rings could be improved.
other than that, lovely work.

Agree on you with that, I have a version without the moon and its shadow, but I never bothered uploading it.
Thank you.

Very nice man! You have some really clean space art... Im loving everything, the shadow the small planet is casting on the rings seems a bit odd to me... not quite sure what it is though... perhaps its too "wide" I think if you made it more skinny it would fit better... because right now it seems too big for the planet... either way, great work mate!

Hmm thanks man. Yeah, that shadow is really odd, I think it takes away from the composition. I think it might be better if I make it sharper and distort it more so that it comes from the direction of the sun.

This is perfect, I haven't seen a space work better than this one :)
